I view them as a toy. We made little things out of paper when I was a child that would answer your questions, they were quickly seized by our teacher, Sister Bernard. She was convinced we had been possessed.

Isn’t there enough real evil in the world without having to worry about a toy?

    In every sense.

it is just a toy. What your teacher is saying is just supersticious bullshit

  9. Stacy Mae says:

It is just a toy and intended for entertainment only. However, if someone really thinks it’s true then that would be a problem.

  10. Birdbrai says:

Depends on how one uses it.

If I had eight balls I would regard it as a minor miracle. Tell your tutor to come into the real world and stop thinking like a superstitious cave man.

She was being too legalistic. Magic 8 balls, horoscopes etc. are not necessarily evil. Beliving that those things have power and can lead your life is wrong but yeah…it’s just a toy.

Your instructor is neither qualified nor Christian. Objects cannot be evil, only the person using them. She uses a cross, or a bible or a menorah or an altare. If you disagree with her are you evil? Is the object evil? Of course not. You sound a lot smarter then your instructor. I would sent that person packing if I were you. I have been a professor of history for many years and have debunked all of those rediculous claims. Do not let this person worry you.

  16. 'LotuS says:

Hm, unless they have evil answers in them.

    Nope. She’s wrong, trust me!

If you take the number 8 and add each number before it up you get 36:

1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8 = 36, if you do the same thing with the number 36 you get the number 666. The fact that the 8 ball has the colour black and covertly contains a hidden reference to the number 666 leads me to believe the designer intended it to be evil, and I suspect evil entities would be attracted to it to mislead you as a result.

I am, however, not sure if all divination devices are evil, personally I have a bad and scary experiences with a Ouiji board where it seemed to open up a portal and something evil tried to possess me (I don’t recommend anyone use these, and if you do read up on how to protect yourself first please). I have had tarot cards work well for me, but again I do not know if divination is evil in itself or not.
