Has A Modern Day Magician Such As The Great Ramsi (spelling?) Ever Recreated The Miracles In The Bible?

Such as the rod to a snake; parting of sea (even a small body of water); walking on water; wine to blood, etc. What about David Blaine or Copperfield?

The question is kind of misleading. For one miracles are what they are, i.e. events that can’t be explained or replicated in a controlled environment. Magicians (don’t hate me for this) are more like illusionists. They trick the spectator into believing what they want. So if you really believe in the concept of a higher being and inexplicable occurrences such as the parting of the sea, walking on water, etc. then it should be clear that no one has ever replicated them. By definition if their miracles then they shouldn’t be replicated (as in, it is impossible).

I don’t know – but this question carries the hidden assumption that the “miracles” in the bible actually happened. Except there are no outside sources that confirm them.
For the record, I saw Penn & Teller do the walking on water and water to wine thing – it was in one of their shows.

Closest I’ve heard of is a Hindu person, I forget the first part but the last part is Baba. He has been known to bi-locate, create holy ash out of nothing etc. One person who spent time with him spoke of racing with him and others to a tree. Baba disappeared and was found sitting in the tree when the rest of the people arrived.

The only one that I can’t think of that has not been accomplished is the parting of the sea and that’s it. All the others are nothing more than parlor tricks. Besides, it is considered in bad form to copy another magicians magic tricks.

First of all is there any proof at all other than the bible that any of those things happened? Oh my thumbs down. It’s ok I’m not bucking for best answer anyway. At any rate no one has refuted what I have said. Other than the bible there is no proof that any of that ever happened.

I have had many people argue with me about this question…..I always start off with how crafty the devil is…The whole point of the devil is to try to discredit what Jesus did so people will question and lose thier faith…By doing this the devil has done a hell of a job but………..
Ask one of these great magicians to raise a person from the dead….Make the blind see….feed a 5,000 people with a few fish and a couple of loafs of bread….try making the crippled walk again, make a witherd arm a regular arm and restore a chopped off ear…….
    Wake up people

The best any of these people can do is slight of hand or illusions. There is no real magic to any of it, let alone miracles such as what is described in the Bible.

Modern day magicians are illusionists…..they do tricks
God created everything. Are you missing an fundemental understanding here?

  9. Gazoo says:

Most, if not all the “miracles” in the Bible have been done at some point by an illusionist.
Chris Angel in particular does them on a regular basis.

  10. Kjelstad says:

No, but J. K. Rowling has.
I was implying the same thing as Acid with that.
Oh, and I still want to take bite out of your butt.

  11. zansmom2 says:

They are only Illusionists, not God. So they can only imitate what God has done, not actually do what God has done and have the same effect.

    Criss Angel walks on water

  13. Moiraes Fate says:

*sighs* You’ve never heard of Cris Angel have you? He walked on water kid.
