I always wanted to become a magician (like David Blaine,David Copperfield, and The Amazing Jonathan) but I don’t know where to start. Any ideas or suggestions?

The library and book store are full of magic books. Youtube is loaded with magic. You have to start small and learn the basics. I suggest card tricks to start with.
You must realize that learning a trick is not always easy. Many times you have to buy a trick.
Find a magic Shop. Look in the phone book, check the Malls.
Here are some basics to start with. Failure to do them will frustrate you and you will loose your audience.
    1. Practice the trick at least 50 times after feeling you have got it perfected before performing it.
    2. Always do the trick the same way. do not change what you say.
    3. NEVER perform the same trick more than once a day for your audience. This is the most difficult to resist.
    4. NEVER tell how you do a trick. When you do your audience is no longer interested. It no longer is special.
    5. Never let the audience touch you unless it is part of the trick.
Let your audience know that you are going to do it once and only once.
Kids are always fascinated with tricks.
Even if someone figures out how you did a trick or already know how it is done, do not agree deny or explain.
Start looking for a magic club to join.
    Good Luck

I Can help you with that buddy!, I Became a magician after staying in a hotel learning card tricks from my favorite magician back then was Mandrake the magician on my laptop.. i went out to the pool side and i saw a bunch of famous directors and then i ask them do they wanna see some of my tricks ad they say like yeah sure go for it and then i show them the best card trick in the world! they were happy, impressed and they found their new star! (but that was only luck)
Here’s some advice on becoming a magician, first off you gotta know your tricks, second maybe go to a club, restaurant maybe a pub (if old enough) and ask the manager can you preform a few things, and people start to like you, the manager might tell someone if your REALLY REALLY good! and then you got your ticket to fame my friend!
Also, look for the nearest library and rent a few books about magic you’ll get it eventually and become really good trust me i know how this whole thing can feel..
+ If you want some DVD’s get some David Blaine, maybe some Amazing Jonathan…you’ll be great!

obviously learn some basic tricks and build off of them into more complex ones. but you should definitely start creating a memorable stage persona as well so people know who you are.
