1970/80’s Children’s Book – Magic, Something About A Metal Washer?
Hi!
does anybody know/remember a series of children’s stories from the 1980’s (i read them late 80’s, early 90’s) that involved a young boy, a silver metal washer that was magical and allowed him to visit ‘other realms’ i think… it was very escapist; i think he lived in a horrible city and this washer allowed him to visit other, magical, green places (i remember one story that involved a lake in a wood)… from the drawings i remember they were 70’s influenced….they wernt very long and paper back from my versions i read at school.
i just really enjoyed them and i’d like to figure out what they were!!!

Good Ideas For Teaching Kids About Dinosaurs?
Hey guys,
I’m a fairly new second grade teacher who just moved to Canada. I’ve never really taught at schools outside of Scotland before, so the curriculum is a bit different.
Anyways the current topic my 2nd graders are learning about are Dinosaurs. I have a couple fun ideas stocked up on projects and other things they can do which involve reading, writing and building things. We are also going to watch “The Magic School Bus in the Time of the Dinosaurs” at some point during the topic.
My oldest son is 3 years old and he hasn’t quite gotten to the dinosaur hype stage, so I’m not extremely familiar with cool things related to dinosaurs.
As parents of older children I was hoping some of you have come across the dinosaurs topic when your children were a bit younger. Even if you haven’t though and you have creative ideas related to the topic, your answers are highly appreciated.
Do you have any good ideas on things I could do with the kids involving dinosaurs?

Why Do People Believe That Crap Derren Brown Said About How He “predicted” The Lottery?
He used the split screen, the “shake” was added, it’s a digital effect.. the view from the back of the hall was prerecorded, if he wanted to predict the numbers he could have done BEFORE the draw, but his little excuse was “because we can’t announce the numbers before the draw”.. which is wrong because a prediction is not the same..
Just another scam, like David Blaine hovering, tv work. I like Derren’s other work though, the REAL stuff.
