Christians, Do You Fear Magic And Witchcraft?
Pupils at The Holt Primary School in Lincolnshire were planning to celebrate the launch of the JK Rowling book, Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, by dressing up as witches and wizards.
However, the event was called off after the school received letters from parents and a local rector, worried about concerns over witchcraft.
Headteacher Paul Martin wrote to parents saying: “When I received a letter from the rector which suggested that I was ‘seeking to lead our children into areas of evil’, I felt that the situation was escalating disproportionately.”
The Reverend Richard Billingshurst, who sent the letter admitted he had not read any of the books but had seen the Harry Potter films.
He said: “If people start going around casting spells on their neighbours because they don’t know what they are doing, they are heading into dangerous waters.”
The head teacher of St Mary’s Island Church of England school in Chatham, Kent says the tales of wizardly adventures do not conform with her school’s “church ethos.” “The Bible is very clear and consistent in its teachings that wizards, devils and demons exist and are very real, powerful and dangerous and God’s people are told to have nothing to do with them. Harry Potter is as dangerous to children as child molestors” Carol Rookwood said.
Fellow Christians: Why Can’t Some Christians Accept The Fact That Harry Potter Is Not Dangerous?
I am a christian, and i just dont know why some other Christians think that harry potter is evil and should not be read. Harry Potter is one of the Best book series I have ever read and is NOT a step by step instruction book to Dark arts. Its a FICTION BOOK people!!!! People who are dumb enough to think that any of it is real have serious issues. If people’s faiths are that WEAK that they can be swayed out of christianity by a children’s book then we have an even bigger issue. We should be strenghtening our faith so that we can read ANYTHING and not be swayed. Shunning the book does no good but tell us Chritians that we are weak and gullable. So, the book is not to blame for ANYTHING, people’s weak faith is. But we’re not talking about anything serious! This is a fiction childrens book about magic school and goblins and good versus evil! This should be nothing to us!! Why make such a big deal??
What If I Don’t Believe In Jesus? I Believe In God, And Follow Many Of The Beliefs Of Christians, But….
I’m just not sure if I believe in Jesus. It seems so strange to put our love and faith in a man, who thousands of years ago, said he was god’s son… I almost feel bad about it, you know? I mean, it says in the TEN COMMANDMENTS!!! “Thou shall worship no other god”. Seems to me like we ARE worshiping another god. Really, how smart were these people back then that saw/recorded/passed down the miracles of Christ? People like David Blaine and David Copperfield would have been absolute phenoms back in the day, you know?? What’s wrong with me, where do I fit in…. Answers anyone???
Christians: Is Magic Bad?
I was flipping through channels last night when I came across this magician called David Blaine. Previously I had seen the guy try to hold his breath for 8 minutes or something like that…anyways, I started watching it but found some of his tricks creepy. Ex: levatation, mind reading, etc. I knew I should have turned if off but found myself fascinated as some of the stuff he could do. Not the mind reading but the card tricks. That got me thinking, is magic, like card tricks, bad for Christians? Thanks for the imput. BTW, how does the guy do taht? Is he possessed or something?

Is doing Magic Tricks like David Blaine or Chris Angel(I know what your thinking, those are just magic tricks, I know how they did it!!! a $50 dollar book/dvd will show you how to do that check www.ellusionist.com) ok so is doing magic tricks a sin??? I use it to entertain people and neither of us believes it is from the devil, well is it??? They are just stuff to entertain people just like how “transformers” used CGI to fool the eye and make the cars look like they transform into robots, is it a sin or not???
Why Do Christians Think That Jesus Is “magic”?
christians think jesus is magical like david blaine?if i wrote a really really really long book about david blaine filled with hazy symbolism and eronius metaphors and a bunch of jibba jabba then buried it do you think people in 2155 would call david blaine “the son of some imaginary father figure in the sky who makes everything and everyone happen just to stroke his own ego then waste his time embodying himself on earth so he can make a bunch of hebs and chi-chi men poke him to death with sticks and go right back to where he came from”?if you wish to pray for me please write your prayers down starting with “Dear Jesus,” then throw them in the garbage because at least the garbage is real.
