Christmas At Disney 2009?

My family and I are going to Disney from the 16th of December until the 22nd and I had two questions for anybody who has been there.
1) How is the Crowd level I have heard that from the 24th and onwards that it is very crowded. How is it on the days leading up to it? I have been to Disney on several occasions but never during the holiday season so I just want to know about what to expect.
2) The last Very Merry Micky Christmas party is on the 18th I think and I was wondering if we decided not to go if after that date they start showing the Holiday fireworks, parade and castle lights to everybody? We would love to see those things but not sure if we will have the money to get the tickets. We have a family of first timers with us and I want to make sure they get the full magic that is Disney.
Thank you for all and any help that you can provide.

Disney World At Christmas?

January 18, 2010 by admin

I’m thinking about taking my son for a 2 or 3 day visit to Disney World for Christmas. I’ve never seen the park decorated at Christmas, and my son is nearing the age where he’ll soon be too “grown up” for the Magic Kingdom. I’m to understand that it can be quite crowded during this time as schools are out. So what about after Christmas? How long does Disney keep the Magic Kingdom decorated? Would we come out better staying a couple days during the week versus the weekend?
I know that not all tickets to the park are purchased directly from Disney, but can the theme parks estimate how many guest they might have in a day (say within a thousand)? Any other tips would be welcomed.
I do have to pass this along to anyone who might be planning a trip to Disney during the upcoming year. Go in late February or March. The weather was perfect {neither too hot or cold} and the longest line we stood in was for 30 minutes to ride Space Mountain. They didn’t run the electric parade at night, but missing the long lines was worth the trade off. I booked this trip via Travelocity (last minute deals) and for $800 we received direct round trip air (from NC), three days and two nights at the Disney’s Swan Hotel as well as one adult and one child ticket to one of the theme parks for one day. If you stay within the Disney complex there’s no need for a vehicle (there had to be 500+ shuttles running all the time).

My Grandson Is In Grade 1 At School In La. Why Are The Children Not Taught About The Christmas Story?

No reference has been made at school about the wonderful stories surrounding the Christian Christmas and neither have these young children been taught any of the beautiful carols that are associated with this special time of year. Surely an opportunity for drama re-enactment has been lost there. What small child would not remember for ever the magic of being dressed as a shepherd, a star, angel or king while acting out the wonderful story of Christmas? These delightful scenes have been taking place in schools right across the UK in recent weeks and our children learn from an early age that Christmas is not just about presents and decorations.
