Is It True That Flys Go Into A Coma If You Put Them In A Freezer?

i heard that flys can go into a coma if they are put into a freezer.
i heard that from david blaine the magic man who brings a fly back to life.
but in fact the fly was in a coma. but i dont know for sure if a fly goes into a coma if you put it into the freezer.
