The main character goes to a school and becomes a monk that trains to use the gemstones. I think it is about necromancy (not sure). He then travels by boat to a remote island to gather the stones after a show deposits them on the shore. Each type of stone has its own propertys.
I read this book ages ago and cannot find it in the stores. If anyone knows the the name it would help me out. Thank U.

What “magic fiction” is taught in school exactly? Are you speaking perhaps of how some language classes allow students to read Harry Potter as an assignment? That is hardly “teaching” magic fiction.
The bible cannot be taught in public schools, because then we’d have to teach the Qu’ran, the Vedas, and all the other religions out there, and there would be no time for math and science,

i have to do a collage for english, with science fiction pictures on it but ive run out of pics or movies to do it from so im wondering if harry potter would classify as science fiction?? i know that the magic part would be fantasy but what about all the dementors….that would be kinda science fiction wouldnt it??
