Anyone Else Miss The 80s And 90s As Much As Me :(?

remember when the 80s and 90s were like those carefree times? Like, no high tech gadgets like touch screens or slider cellphones and Walkmans were the coolest things ever? I miss the old, low quality and definition commercals. :( like, the tootsie pop commercials or the old cartoons like Rockos Mordern Life or Magic School Bus. Life was just simple.
2000 just isn’t the same. ): too much special effects and Hollywood garbage. Too many high tech gadgets, its hard to keep up.
Don’t you just wish you could go back in time? Back to rubiks cubes and cassette tapes?
I do…

If Your A 90′s Kid How Much Do You Remember?

Anybody under the age of 13 should not read this, and if you do, you should not repost this.
Just because you were born in ’98 doesn’t mean you’re a 90′s kid.
It’s not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but three conscious years of the 90′s just wont cut it.
You’re a 90′s kid if:
You can finish this [ice ice _ _ _ _ ]
You remember watching Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Pinky and the Brain, and Two Stupid Dogs.
AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!
You’ve ever ended a sentence with the word “PSYCHE!”
You just cant resist finishing this . . . “Iiiiiiin west philidelphia born and raised . . .”
You remember TGIF, Step by Step, Family Matters, Dinosaurs, and Boy Meets World.
You remember when Tupac and Selena died.
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail and Reader Rabbit day in computer class at school.
You remember reading “Goosebumps”
You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.
You remember the craze and then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.
You still get the urge to say “NOT” after (almost) every sentence . . . not
when everyhting was settled by rock paper scissors..or bubble gum bubble gum in a dish…and even better daddy had a donkey inky binky bonky.
when cops and robbers was a daily activity.
when we played Hide and go seek until our legs grew numb.
when we used to obey our parents
You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record your FAVORITE song of ALL time.
“Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?” was both a game and a TV game show.
Captain Planet. He’s a Hero.
You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green ranger, were meant to be together.
You remember when Super Nintendos and Sega Genisis became popular.
You always wanted to send in a tape to America’s Funniest Home Videos . . . but never taped anything funny.
You remember watching Home Alone 1, 2 , and 3 . . . and tried to pull the pranks on “intruders”
You remember watching The Magic School Bus, Wishbone, and Reading Rainbow on PBS.
You remember when Yomega Yo-Yos were cool.
You remember those Where’s Waldo books.
You remember when Mortal Kombat Was “Da Bomb!”
You remember eating Warheads.
You remember watching the 1st Batman, Aladin, Ninja Turtles, and 3 Ninjas movies.
You remember Ring Pops.
You remember drinking Fruitopia, Surge, and Tang.
If you remember when every thing was “da BOMB!”
When they made the new lunchables so that you could make pizza AND tacos.
You remember boom boxes vs. cd players.
Writing M.A.S.H. notes.
Making those little paper fortune cookie things, and then predicting your life with them.
You knew all the characters names and their life stories on “Saved By The Bell”.
You played and/or collected “Pogs”
You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet, or Nano and brought it everywhere.
. . . Furbies.
You haven’t always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.
And Windows 95 was the best.
You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.
You had a favorite “New Kid on the Block”, and you knew all of their names.
When Goth (NOT EMO) was crazy cool! Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, the good bands.
You remember Bewitched, Jump 5, S-Club 7, and that whole period with the boy bands and pop divas.
You remember exactly where you were and what you were doing the first time you saw a Britney Spears or N’SYNC video.
Michael Jordan was a king.
YIKES pencils and erasers were the stuff!
All your school supplies were “Lisa Frank” brand.
You remember when the new Beanie Babies and Talking Elmo were always sold out.
You collected those Beanie Babies.
You remember the first Beanie Babies.
Growing Pains.
Carebears and The Gummy Bear show.
Gak was the coolest stuff invented.
Lambchop’s song never ended.
The old dollar bills.
Silver dollars, which were cool to have.
You remember a time before the WB.
You collected all the Troll dolls
You owned a portable tape player.
If you even know what an original walkman is.
You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.
You’ve gotten creeped out by “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”
You know the Macarena by heart.
“Talk to the hand” . . . enough said
You always said, “Then why don’t you marry it!”
You know the significance of the number 23.
You went to McDonald’s to play in the playplace.
You remember playing on merry go rounds at the playground.
Before the MySpace frenzy . . .
Before the Internet & text messaging . . .
Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .
Before MIKE JONES . . .
Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX . . .
Before Spongebob . . .
Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.
remember the boy band “dream street”—
When light up sneakers were cool.
When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.
When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.
When we recorded stuff on VCRs.
When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off of our walkmans.
When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.
Way back.
When it was all about N64.
WHEN YOU TRADED POKEMON CARDS FOR A LIVING.
Before we realized all this would eventually disappear.
Who would have thought you’d miss the 90′s so much!!!!!

Ok so I have been researching names for a story I’m hoping to write, but I don’t want to get told off for copying J.K. Rowling’s masterpiece!
So I found names I like, like Draco (I love Draco from Harry Potter)
Would it be plagurism if I used the name Draco for my main character? It will be about magic also…. not like a magic school, but see my other questiom to know what its about….
I LOVE LORD VOLDEMORT!

Going To Disney World For The First Time, And For Two Days. How Much And What Can We Do?

February 5, 2010 by admin

Two parents, 11 year old and me, 14 years old. We’re going to get the park hopper tickets (think) for the four parks in mid/late april. We’ve never gone before and I’m in charge of the itinerary. I printed out the park maps and wow! That’s huge. Way more than two days worth of stuff. We’re going to get there after the park closes and spend the night and be there in the morning then stay there all day, go back to the hotel, spend the whole day the next day and then drive back to my grandfather’s place (about 1 and a half hours away).
Is it worth staying at one of the disney hotels or should we get a hotel room outside of disney? Inexpencive Hotel suggestions? Also, do you know the cheapest resteraunt(s) at disney? And does anyone have any information on the firework shows and the best place(s) to be when you see it? We were thinking ti would be nice to watch the fire works at epcot (or so we heard that they’re their) over dinner, but not sure if that’s possible. Do we call and reserve something?
I’ve learned about the fast passes but not sure if they’re worth doing If you can only get one ever two hours.
So what should we see (we’re firt timers and all). Definitely Not to interested in meeting the characters. We’ll definentally hit space mountain and splash mountain, but asides from that what else are the must see’s (minding that we’ve only got two days there).
We’ll definitly spend a whole day at magic kingdom (I’ve heard that’s where you get most of the ‘disney’ experience) unless you think we’ll have time for more. as for the second day, I have no clue and need some help.
So answers/tips/suggestion/advice would be very much appreciated. I’ll be definentally picking a best answer for this question (10 points or whatever you get for getting best answer).
P.S. Is the animal safari worth our time? I’ve heard the whole Animal kingdom is like a zoo, but to me that everest mountain thing sounds fun…what do ya’ll think?

Too Much For A Toddler?

I’m going to Orlando Florida from Feb 18 to the 24th. It will be my husband, me and our super energetic 19 month old son. So far I got tickets to Universal Studios (he absolutely loves Spongebob) for unlimited while we are there but thinking maybe 2 days there. I was thinking Seaworld for the shows which I think he would love and then maybe Disney World too but the tickets seem so much. They even have a smaller zoo around that only costs $10 instead animal kingdom at Disney World. For Disney World I think he would get a kick out of Magic Kingdom and the Behind the scenes one (don’t remember the name) but I would hate to spend $300 to get him for me and my husband. Do you think it would be too much to get in on one day for Disney World? Even more so do you think I’m planning too much for a toddler even though he can outlast me on energy some days? I’m deploying for a year a week after we get back so I want as much fun me and him time as possible with tons of good memories before I leave.
