If Intelligent Design Should Be Taught Side By Side With Evolution?

Then maybe alchemy should be considered as a good alternative to chemistry, astrology could be just as sound as astronomy and perhaps David Copperfield can teach high school students a thing or two about magic tricks eliminating the need to read through a Physics textbook.
I really don’t get how I.D. could be a plausible theory of life on Earth if all it does is use Red Herring argument tactics by constantly making arguments against evolution (and poor ones at that) rather than arguments for Intelligent design.
What do you think about I.D.?
