I’ve already read Great Expectations, The Pickwick Papers and David Copperfield. I’ll get the ball rolling by telling you my favourite Dickens novel so far.

The Pickwick Papers was the most humorous overall, and Sam Weller is one of my favorite characters in his books.
However, I believe I’d have to give the “title” to A Christmas Carol, since that is the one I can and have read again and again; every Christmas, in fact.
It’s a tough call, though, since I love all of Charles Dickens’ novels and short stories. The first that really hooked me was David Copperfield, especially because of one scene that had me laughing out loud. After that, I couldn’t get enough of his works.
Yep! Great Expectations is my favourite too, I also liked Oliver Twist.
I think it’s something to do with the universal themes of the books.
I tried reading Hard Times, found it a little dry though.
A Tale of Two Cities. The only one which doesn’t wallow in English depravity and deprivation.
Can’t stand Dickens. Had to read some at school. Tried again at the age of 60. ‘Great Expectations’. No! Still don’t like them
After having to read A Tale of Two Cities for summer work and absolutely hating it, I don’t plan to read any of his novels to see if I have anything near a favorite
Great Expectations is my favourite with A Christmas Carol a close second.
