I’ll read most or all of them sometime this year, but the order matters to me. Which first?
Little Women – Louisa May Alcott
Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
Emma – Jane Austen
Sense and Sensibility – Jane Austen
Fahrenheit 451 – Ray Bradbury
Jane Eyre – Charlotte Bronte
Wuthering Heights – Emily Bronte
Oliver Twist – Charles Dickens
David Copperfield – Charles Dickens
The Count of Monte Cristo – Alexandre Dumas
The Lord of the Flies – William Golding
Phantom of the Opera – Gaston Leroux
The Screwtape Letters – C.S. Lewis
The Scarlet Pimpernel – Baroness Orczy
The Prince and the Pauper – Mark Twain
Sorry the list is quite long. :)

I would say Pride and Prejudice… I love the story… However Jane Eyre is great and so is Little Women…

This is my recommended order. If I didn’t number it, I haven’t read it, sorry.
    4. Little Women – Louisa May Alcott
    1. Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
    10. Emma – Jane Austen
    7. Sense and Sensibility – Jane Austen
    Fahrenheit 451 – Ray Bradbury
    2. Jane Eyre – Charlotte Bronte
    3. Wuthering Heights – Emily Bronte
    6. Oliver Twist – Charles Dickens
    David Copperfield – Charles Dickens

The Scarlet Pimpernel – Baroness Orczy
    9. The Prince and the Pauper – Mark Twain

Fahrenheit 451 and the Lord of the Flies should be first, but that is only because they are my favorites out of the ones you listed. In reality, it’s all really subjective.
EDIT: I didn’t notice you had Dumas on there. Read any of his books, could be the Three Musketeers not just the Count of Monte Cristo.

Wuthering Heights, definitely. I loved this book so much that I read it for pleasure after I already had to read it for school. It is such a great work of art.
My other favorites from this list that I would recommend are: Pride and Prejudice, Fahrenheit 451, The Lord of the Flies, and Phantom of the Opera (the movie is wonderful by the way).
    Hope I helped!

All of these are great books! I recommend starting with Pride and Prejudice — it has a nice flow and likeable characters. Or, since Banned Books Week begins on September 26th, read Fahrenheit 451 to celebrate the 1st amendment and your freedom to read what you choose.
    Hope this helps.

  6. Flapjack Fan says:

My personal favorite out of that list is The Count of Monte Cristo! Such a good book… Now I want to read it!
Howeverrr, out of the ones I have not read I would pick Fahrenheit 451. So my vote is for that one.

  7. rocheste says:

um i would say jane eyre! cause thats also the one i started with and also it’s much more easier to understand than jane austen’s works! and it’s just such a an amazing book! it’s my all time fave and i think it’s the best love story!
    happy reading!

I loved Fahrenheit 451 and Lord of the Flies. It’s all about a matter of sheer preference, however. If you’re the romance type read Pride and Prejudice.
