Why Do Alot Of People Belive The Bible But Not In Reality?

Ok the bible has alot of stories of obvious primative human imagination to give morals and meaning to life to ease everyone but how comes 2000s years later people are still believing this im 17 and no for sure it is not real. Probly Jesus was a real man but was what we would called today David blaine a magcian but got the attention of a fan who would later write a book which many worship. On the other hand some of the same people are quick to say the powers of Vodou are not real or talking to the dead is impossible & supernatural is not real which I know for sure is real because I have witnessed this first hand and I am not easily fooled. I say if we don’t forget all religions they are all going to evolve into extremeisim and play a major role in the greater evolution of human on human killing. I say not one man can be special like jesus was portrayed

    A. THE FORMATION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CANON (A.D. 100-220)http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03274a.h…
The idea of a complete and clear-cut canon of the New Testament existing from the beginning, that is from Apostolic times, has no foundation in history. The Canon of the New Testament, like that of the Old, is the result of a development, of a process at once stimulated by disputes with doubters, both within and without the Church, and retarded by certain obscurities and natural hesitations, and which did not reach its final term until the dogmatic definition of the Tridentine Council. (“Canon of the New Testament”)
There is a lot of confusion about the earliest existing texts of the Bible. The oldest extant manuscript of the Bible is believed to be the Codex Vaticanus, (preserved in the Vatican Library), which is slightly older than the Codex Sinaiticus (preserved in the British Library), both of which were transcribed in the fourth century.
As for the story of Jesus, there were at least 50 gospels written in the first and second century CE. Four of them (Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John) were included in the official canon during the fourth century CE and are found today in every Bible. All of the original copies of the gospels were lost. What we have now are handwritten copies, which are an unknown number of replications removed from the originals.
Rudolf Bultmann, a prominent 20th-century professor of New Testament studies writes about the life of Jesus:
We can now know almost nothing concerning the life and personality of Jesus, since the early Christian sources show no interest in either, are moreover fragmentary and often legendary; and other sources about Jesus do not exist. (Bultmann 8)

  2. Jesus loves Ann Coulter says:

It is more accurate to say that your reality has the absence of God.
However, to whom those God has revealed himself to; we can no more deny him then the supernatural things you have observed. Because God has no revealed himself to you doesnt mean he doesnt exist. Because some Biblical stories sound fantastic doesnt mean they didnt happen. It simply means you dont believe when we KNOW God to be a God of miracles and great power who has displayed such power before our very eyes of which you cannt so easily dismiss.
There is no great future of humanity. it is all going to be destroyed. The Q is, what is going to happen to you afterward???

You should look at your question again and consider why it is that several pieces of liteature written by different people from all walks of life can , over thousands of years share the same message and people still believe it. It is in fact, a miracle. Did you know that other historical figures such as William Shakespeare or Sophocles or Pharoh Amen- Hotep collectively have less documentation that they even existed than Jesus? In spite of this, people have no problem believing they existed simply because there are (a few) documents with a name written on some articles that date only a few hundred years old.
Spirits, as you point out are real. I have had personal exerience with them and I never intend to go that way again. God is real and He’s left tons and tons of evidence to prove it. No one can find the body of Jesus yet many have died over the testimony that he rose from the dead. Who would willingly give up their life for something they knew was a lie? Would you?
Look at the political history of ancient governments; particularly eastern and asian and you will find the verifiable names of real people that held offices in government during those times.
This book is not a fairy tale. It is a record that God has left of His personal and continual interaction with us. He’s concerned and he is still involved with the affairs of todays world. He’s also concerned about you.
The bible is a book about the truth we need to know God for ourselves. He loves you and wants to be a part of your life. You should find a pastor who studies the Word and inquire about how the bible relates to the world today and you personally.

Voodoo works, but it is not love.
You can talk to the dead, but why not let them go on to their next step?
I suggest you let go of “probablies” and just do the best you can loving people. You’ll be a lot happier.

  5. truth says:

Basically you are pointing to persons who are just faith believers and they generally will believe anything that a preacher or priests tells them about god and Jesus. They might read the bible but can’t understand it because they have been lead to accept and believe all of it. Jesus was not real, he was a fictional character in a fictional story as well as all the other main characters were fictional, too.
About you having witnessed another claiming to talk to the dead, you have been hoodwinked completely. Do not believe in such lies and you will be fine. Just believe in reality.

  6. godsnori says:

The supernatural is real. That is also in the bible. Jesus can be special as portrayed as he was sent from God who has the power to do whatever He wants. You should check out facts about the bible, times, places, occurances and such and you will see that much of it fits and is probable. As far as religion if man did not have religion then they would find something else to kill over. It is not religion it is mankind’s thinking and to blame it on anything else is foolish.

  7. Anonymous says:

The bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be saved, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.
If the bible was not true then what is truth and what are we people doing on earth then. There is too many problems and only Jesus Christ can solve them. Study the bible and at least you may see what it teaches and what it predicts and what is installed for those who reject Christ and for those who accept Christ. You also if your not a person who already believes in Jesus can also be saved and the door is always open while your alive and on planet earth

At least the Bible is full of correct spelling. Yours is painful.

    Okay… Thanks.
Ahem… You may be more easily fooled than you think. Go back and re-check on the Voodoo and supernatural stuff again.

2 Cor 10:3-5 says to “cast down theories, reasonings, and every high and lofty thing that exalts itself against the true knowledge of God.”
Faith is not common sense and common sense is not faith. We can’t exalt our own opinions, ideas and common sense.
    The bible is reality.
