Why Do People Believe That Crap Derren Brown Said About How He “predicted” The Lottery?
He used the split screen, the “shake” was added, it’s a digital effect.. the view from the back of the hall was prerecorded, if he wanted to predict the numbers he could have done BEFORE the draw, but his little excuse was “because we can’t announce the numbers before the draw”.. which is wrong because a prediction is not the same..
Just another scam, like David Blaine hovering, tv work. I like Derren’s other work though, the REAL stuff.
I reckon there was simply someone out of camera view putting the rights numbered balls in the white tube. Simple as that.
One thing for sure, the 24 people did not predict the correct numbers.
Nor did DB.
Derren Brown is an illusionist by profession he makes no serious claims to be anything else. It’s quite an art and the good ones are very skilled.
I am a genuine psychic, I can’t read palms or see things in crystal balls. Mine is a natural ability that comes and goes at whim, not much use but very defiatley there. I would be very suspicious of anyone that can deliver on demand. I don’t think that’s the way the ability works in anyone.
Most magical illusions do not rely on high tech, but I agree with you that this was just another trick.
Still next time he plans on sticking people at home to their chairs by using suggestion. Will you be glued to the screen and your seat do you think?
As always people believe what they choose, however Derren Brown only created the illusion he predicted the lottery balls, nothing more. Nothing and no-one can accurately predict or influence the lottery draw.

I wonder how many groups of people will be getting together next week to spend all of their hard earned money on a ‘sure fire’ prediction’. They will be sadly disappointed. Oh well! a fool and their money are soon parted.

Derren Brown is usually good, but this was a cop out, anyone who thinks he did it, is a fool.

It annoys me too. If he could really predict the lottery, he wouldn’t tell anyone. He’d just do it and win lots of money. It’s obviously a trick.

My opinion is that this happened
The split screen, the darkness, the distance of camera from the balls and the shake were all to make the stand and the “balls” unable to be seen clearly. When we saw the stand before it zoomed in the “balls” were in fact a white strip of some material made to appear like the “balls” from that distance. When the numbered balls were announced they were sucked up at high speed through the see through stand so they couldn’t be seen using an assistant under the stage with all 49 numbered balls. While Derren wrote the numbers down and all the balls had been sucked up the white strip was electronically moved underneath or behind where the balls were placed to reveal the real balls still at a distance. They looked so similar that we were unable to see the change The camera was then zoomed in free to see these real balls close up.
The balls were sucked up at a high speed beyond our vision capability and some kind of device was at the top to make them not fly out at the top
I think its all in that stand which he never showed us clearly
